• 1v1 Rush defense (Plays body and doesn’t puck watch as much)

Areas to Improve

• Point shots (accuracy, head up)

• Skating: Transitions (*lateral mobility w/puck going to the right)

• Defensive Zone Coverage: Weakside D

• Using the net on breakouts, puck protection

Coach’s Corner

AJ has played in all situations throughout the year. He is a good teammate and fun to coach. AJ has exceptional quickness and a great competitive spirit in practice and games. His passing and play off the puck has improved since last year. AJ’s two biggest areas for improvement are his point shots and transitional skating/edge work. He needs to be more consistent with his release and work on his outside edges/smoother transitions to take his game up another level. AJ has the ability to be a dominant force on both ends of the ice -that all begins at practice.
